What types of register content can be retrieved from the German Commercial Register?
This article explains the different types of register content available in the German Commercial Register.
When searching the German Commercial Register (Handelsregister), you may encounter several types of register content. Each type provides a different view of a company’s registered information.
AD — Current Version: Provides an overview of all entries that are currently valid.
This can be used if the most up-to-date official information about a company is needed.
CD — Chronological Printout: Shows all register data as of the transition to electronic register management. This view is helpful when it's needed to understand how entries have changed over time.
HD — Historic Printout: Contains all data that was valid before the switch to electronic register management. This can be used this to research legacy records or historical changes prior to digitalization.
DK — Document Tree Structure: Displays a structured overview of all documents submitted to the register, such as shareholder lists. This option is ideal if it's needed to access underlying filings or supporting documents.
UT — Business Owners Data: Provides information relating to business owners.
This can be selected this when you need ownership-related details.
SI — Structured Register Content (XML): A machine-readable XML file containing AD and CD data for automated processing. This is useful for technical integrations, bulk analysis, or system-to-system data transfer.
