What Austrian register data is shown in North Data?
This article explains learn how North Data processes data from Austrian registers and why changes that are only entered in GISA do not always appear immediately on our platform.
North Data relies primarily on Firmenbuch for Austrian company data. Since GISA and Firmenbuch are maintained by different authorities and there is no automatic synchronization, North Data displays the current Firmenbuch information.
Why do some changes not appear immediately on North Data?
The Austrian Commercial Register (Firmenbuch) and GISA fulfill different functions and are managed by different authorities. Changes in one register are not automatically transferred to the other.
Firmenbuch
All legally relevant changes—such as managing directors, legal form, or company address—must be submitted to the competent commercial court.
Only information that has been officially entered there appears on North Data.
GISA (Trade Register)
Trade-related changes are processed by the relevant municipality (Magistrat) or district administrative authority (BH).
This information is not automatically transmitted to Firmenbuch and is therefore not part of our data source.
What does this mean for your search on North Data?
If a company profile on North Data does not contain the latest GISA changes, it is usually because:
- The change has already been entered in the GISA,
- but has not yet been updated in the Commercial Register (Firmenbuch).
Only when the update has been officially made in the commercial register will it automatically become visible on North Data.
