What are the sources of shareholder information in Germany?

This article explains the different sources of shareholder information in Germany and how they are processed and displayed on our website.

In Germany, shareholder information for companies comes from several sources:

  1. Financial statements published in the Federal Gazette (Bundesanzeiger)  (until 2023)
  2. Financial statements published in the Company register (Unternehmensregister) (since 2023)
  3. CD publications in the commercial register (Handelsregister)

We process information from these sources, and the shareholder details are displayed in the company’s network on our website.

    There are also
  4. DK publications in the commercial register (Handelsregister),

which are scanned lists of shareholders. However, we do not process this data. If a company publishes shareholder information through DK documentation, it will appear in the publication list of the company on our website.

So, the shareholder information can come from any of the four sources mentioned above (if available and legally allowed to be published), and the sources may vary for each company.
