What are "Active Participations"?

This article explains how to identify the companies and organizations in which a selected company currently holds an ownership interest when using North Data.

The Active Participations table shows all companies and organizations in which the selected company currently holds an ownership interest.

This table helps you understand a company's corporate structure, subsidiaries, and investments.

What is an active participation?

An active participation exists when a company holds shares or another ownership interest in another company.

The Active Participations table answers the question: "Which companies does this company own or participate in?"

Company The company or organization in which the selected company holds a participation.
Participation Type The relationship between the selected company and the participation, for example, Shareholder.
Ownership Share The percentage of ownership held by the selected company.

Example: When viewing a company such as Deutsche Bahn AG, the Active Participations table may include companies such as:

along with their respective ownership percentages.

Special cases depending on the legal form

Depending on the legal form of the company, the table may display participants other than shareholders.

For example, in limited partnerships, the table may show Limited Partners / General Partners. These are included to provide a more complete view of the company's ownership and participation structure.

How can I view the source?

Each entry in the table is linked to the underlying source data.

To view the source for a specific participation, click the book icon on the right-hand side of the corresponding row.

The source panel provides information about the origin of the displayed ownership data.

How can I export the data?

You can download the participation data as a CSV file for further analysis.

Use the Download CSV button above the table to export the available ownership data and work with it in external tools such as Excel or Google Sheets.

Why are only some participations shown?

To keep the table easy to navigate and focused on the most relevant ownership relationships, only participations above a certain threshold are displayed.

  • Only participations with an ownership share of more than 0.5% are shown in the table.
  • The table is currently limited to 100 entries.
  • If a company has additional participations, they may not be displayed in the table.

To access all known participations, download the complete dataset using the CSV Download button above the table.

The CSV export contains all available participations, including those that are not shown in the table due to the display threshold or entry limit.
