Venn Diagram
A Venn diagram is a visual method for illustrating relationships between two or more sets of data. It uses overlapping circles to represent different groups (e.g., entities, attributes, risk factors, ownership structures, or datasets).
The overlapping areas indicate shared characteristics or intersections between groups, while the non-overlapping areas represent elements unique to a specific group. A surrounding frame may represent the total universe of elements under review.
In a consulting, legal, or analytical context, Venn diagrams are used to identify overlaps, gaps, dependencies, or exclusivities—for example in ownership analysis, market segmentation, risk mapping, contractual relationships, or data comparison exercises. They help structure complex information and support clear decision-making by making intersections and distinctions immediately visible.
Venn diagrams in North Data’s Company Intelligence are used to illustrate structural overlaps between relevant business indicators and enable informed comparative analysis.
