Unlike a limited partner, a general partner's liability is not limited to a specific capital contribution. In North Data, this term is used when official register records identify an entity as a partner in a partnership whose legal position includes personal liability for the partnership's obligations, even if the register does not explicitly use the term "General Partner". **Example:** The [**Interessenforst Realgemeinde Neugraben eGbR**](https://www.northdata.com/Interessenforst%20Realgemeinde%20Neugraben%20eGbR) is registered as an **eGbR (registered civil-law partnership)**. According to the register extract, the partners jointly represent the partnership. Under German partnership law, partners of an eGbR are generally personally liable for the partnership's obligations.
