Financial KPIs (Financial Key Performance Indicators)

Financial KPIs (financial key performance indicators) are standardized, quantifiable metrics used to assess a company’s financial position and performance over time. They translate financial data into comparable measures and enable structured analysis of profitability, growth, capital structure, and liquidity.

In the context of North Data, Financial KPIs typically include core indicators such as revenue, profit, total assets (balance sheet total), equity, equity ratio, profit margin, and growth rates (e.g. revenue and profit CAGR). Additional metrics such as cash position, liabilities, and number of employees provide further insight into liquidity, leverage, and operational scale.

These KPIs allow companies to be evaluated across key dimensions:

  • Profitability (e.g. profit, profit margin)

  • Growth (e.g. revenue and profit CAGR)

  • Financial stability (e.g. equity, equity ratio, liabilities)

  • Size and scale (e.g. revenue, total assets, employees)

For consulting and analytical use cases, Financial KPIs form the basis for peer benchmarking, time-series analysis, and segmentation, and should always be interpreted in the context of industry, business model, and company life cycle stage.

In North Data, values marked with an asterisk (*) indicate estimated figures. These estimates are generated when key financial data—such as revenue, profit, or employee count—is not available in officially published financial statements. The estimation is based on statistical models and available data points to provide a more complete analytical view, while maintaining transparency about the non-official nature of these values.
