Consolidation in Parent Company

This classification is applied when the parent company exercises control over the subsidiary and prepares consolidated accounts that incorporate the subsidiary’s assets, liabilities, income, and expenses. In such cases, the subsidiary may be exempt from certain standalone disclosure obligations where permitted by law.

In North Data, this term is used when a company is included in the consolidated financial statements of another entity, as evidenced by official filings, annual reports, or consolidated financial statements.

Example:

DB Regio Bus Nord GmbH is included in the consolidated financial statements of Deutsche Bahn AG and is exempt from individual disclosure requirements for the 2024 financial year pursuant to § 264 (3) HGB. The parent company assumes responsibility for the subsidiary’s obligations through the relevant chain of profit transfer agreements. Therefore, the company is classified as “Consolidation in parent company.”
